Used For

Tamoxifen is used to prevent estrogen related gynecomastia, resulting from elevated estrogenic levels. It is taken as a preventative measure in small doses, or used at the onset of any symptoms (e.g. nipple soreness/sensitivity). Other drugs are taken for the similar purposes such as clomiphene citrate and the anti-aromatase drugs which are used in order to try to avoid the hormone related adverse effects.

Nolvadex is a very safe drug and no cases of over dose have been reported. If many pills are taken, the effects do not appear for at least 4-6 days. One may develop a tremor, unsteady gait, dizziness or an irregular heart rate. In all cases, the treatment is supportive. No permanent toxicity is seen.
